The Field Day in SSAU – 2017

On the 30th of June in Engels district on the basis of Educational-scientific-production Association "Volga region" the Saratov state agricultural university held a "The Field Day". The holiday has become traditional for the University – it was held for the fifth time this year.


The event was opened by the rector of the University Nikolay Kuznetsov. He welcomed the guests and said that "The Volga region" is a very good platform to show the latest achievements of science and practice and exchange of experience as well. He also thanked Valery Radaev for supporting the research work of the agrarian University and for the harvester and the tractor which were given as a gift to our university. The rector expressed special gratitude to the Department of science and technology policy and education of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation and personally Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation A. N. Tkachev.
«Five years ago this place was a neglected field, overgrown with weeds, but now it is an advanced experimental site», said the rector. «We demonstrate 150 varieties of agricultural plants, the latest technology, the best achievements in the field of seed production and technology. We will continue to participate in the development of the agricultural industry of Saratov region and perform tasks that are put before us by the Governor».
The head of the region Valery Radaev was seen as a guest in «The Field Day in SSAU – 2017». The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the region Alexander Soloviev, the Minister of agriculture of the region Tatyana Kravtsev, the head of Engelssky municipal area Alexander Strelyukhin and the Chairman of public chamber of area Alexander Lando were presented there too.
«Today the efforts of scientists, youth, business and government give significant result for the agricultural industrial complex. We need to set the goals to plan the economy. We know that agriculture is recognized as the best in the Volga Federal District, but we must go on to develop ourselves, not only in crop production but also in other industries. This solves several problems - employment, import substitution, food security, welfare of the people», said Valery Radaev at the opening ceremony.
The head of the region handed over the letters of thanks to the deans Shjurova Natalia and Dmitry Solovyov, the Professor of "Crop production, plant breeding and genetics", to Victor Narushev, the Director of the "Volga", to Fedor Chetverikov and to the student of the 3rd academic year of faculty of «Evironmental Engineering» Nikolay Kalashnikov.
After the ceremonial opening of the "Field Day" the Governor visited the exhibition of achievements of University scientists and studied carefully the results of scientific research of Saratov state agricultural university. Among them was the newest irrigation system "Cascade", some designings in the field of fire safety, precision agriculture, GIS technologies, varietal diversity of field crops, stationary field crop rotation, plant protection in the prevailing weather conditions of field growing season.
The contests on professional skills in agronomy, engineering and reclamation were held there.
